Warranty issues on pre-owned equipment and dealer demos

Pre-owned Lamm equipment:

We provide a 5-year warranty to the original purchaser of Lamm products obtained through an authorized Lamm dealer.  Pre-owned equipment does not carry the warranty; however, in certain circumstances we might be willing to sell the remaining balance of the 5-year warranty term (counting from the original purchase date) to interested individuals.  There are a number of conditions involved; therefore, each such case will be reconciled individually.

Dealer Demos
Under the terms of our contract, Lamm dealers commit to keeping their demos for at least one year.  Dealer demos carry the following warranty to the first buyer depending on the age of the equipment:
1) a 1-year warranty if the demos are less than 1 (one) or 1 (one) year of age,
2) a 2-year warranty if the demos are 1+ (one+)  through 3 (three) years of age, and
3) no warranty if dealer demos are  3+ (three+) years of age.

However, the warranty on dealer demos will be validated only if the customer sends in the warranty registration within the timeline indicated on the warranty registration form (included in the manual).  For more details, see "Validating the Warranty" section on the
Warranty  webpage.

we recommend replacing 6C19P and both 12AX3 tubes about once a year to maintain the best performance of the preamp

Instructions for replacing the tubes in the L2 Ref.

Ventilation slots located on the top cover of the preamplifier and its power supply must not be blocked and the distance between the top cover of the power supply and any horizontal surface located above the top cover should be at least 4 inches.

We don't offer remotes in a conventional sense of the word.  However, we have a  "remote turn on/off" feature available when the L2 Ref. preamp and the following   LAMM amplifiers are used in the same system: M1.1/M2.1/M1.2 Ref./M2.2/ML3 Signature.  This feature is activated by using remote control cables that are  ordered from us (one set -- 2 pcs. -- of remote link cables is $49.90)

If you wish to order these cables, there are two options available regarding their  lengths:

(1) one cable of the actual length between the L2's power supply and the amp, and another a short link between the amps OR
(2) both cables of actual length, each running from the L2's power supply to its respective amp

This feature is activated by "remote" switch(es) located on the front panel of the preamp's power supply.

You don't need to use shorting plugs unless there is a strong RF in your area.   In this case, you should just put the shorting plugs in the unused inputs of the phono preamp

What's special about the load selector switch on LAMM power amplifiers  M1.2 Ref./M2.2/M1.1/M2.1?

IMPORTANT -- as a first-time user of the amps, you should pay particular attention to operating the "load" and "power" switches located on the rear panel of the amp.  These are so-called locking switches, which means that they don't operate by a simple flick.  You have to first pull the switch toward yourself and then move it up or down.  This type of switch is used to prevent accident flicking.  There is a Warning insert right between the plastic cover of the manual and its title paper.
